My journey into the legal profession was actually more unconventional than you might think. After graduating with a degree from the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering in Minneapolis, I initially had plans to work as a physicist. After having the honor and privilege of working for NASA, I quickly realized a passion for both the environment and helping others. After some soul searching, I decided to pursue the prospect of working as an attorney so that I could have more of a direct opportunity to make a difference in my own community. After being accepted into the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, I was excited to have the opportunity to study under some of the brightest legal minds in the state at the time.

After three years of hard work, I was able to earn my Juris Doctor in 1974. With a continued drive and an unstoppable work ethic, I passed the Minnesota state bar and Ramsey County Bar that same year. Armed with my degree and a license to practice law, I set out to begin serving the great citizens of Minnesota. From the outset, I decided to focus on the areas of estate planning, probate, and family law, as I believed that these areas would allow me to work with individuals and families who were in need of trusted legal guidance and support. I felt that focusing on these areas would allow me to use my expertise to help them through whatever legal challenges they might be facing, and help prepare them for a successful future.

A Proud Minnesotan

As a long time resident of Minnesota, I've strived to get involved in my community and do whatever I can to help improve the lives of my colleagues, coworkers, and neighbors. I'm a member of several local professional organizations and bar associations, including the Ramsey County Bar Association, the Minnesota Bar Association, the Minnesota Association for Justice, the Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, and the Minnesota Lawyers International Human Rights Committee. I truly believe that community involvement is important, and I've been lucky enough to have some truly rewarding experiences working alongside some of the many outstanding individuals in and around the Shoreview area.

I believe everyone deserves to have support when they need it most. I simply want to use my knowledge and experience to serve the needs of my clients.

Four Decades of Experience

Over the last 40 years, I've spent a great deal of time and effort working with individuals and families across Minnesota — from Ramsey and Hennepin County, all the way up to Anoka County — in an effort to help meet the needs of my many clients. Through many late nights and long hours, I've picked up valuable knowledge and experience inside and outside the courtroom that I try to use to the benefit of my clients.  I do this because I pride myself on offering the highest level of legal counsel and representation to anyone who walks through my door, and I strive to do so with respect and integrity, regardless of the circumstances my client may be facing. My goal is to make sure that all of my clients feel confident about the service they get from me, and I'm committed to being accessible, approachable, and reasonable throughout every phase of our relationship.

At the end of the day, I take this approach because I value the relationship I have with my clients, and I want them to feel comfortable and confident knowing their case is in my hands. I understand how stressful legal issues can be, and I also understand how difficult it can be to find an attorney that you feel like you can trust to protect your interests and look out for the needs of you and your family. That's why my primary concern is to solve problems as quickly and inexpensively as possible so that we can move your case forward efficiently and professionally. Ultimately, whatever challenge you may be facing, you don't have to face it alone. Call and schedule a free case consultation today and let's see if we can find a solution for your situation.
